This
old farmhouse was added on to several times over the years and
in the 1960’s extended from a story and a half structure
to a two story structure and given a cedar shingled mansard style
roof. New owners wanted a crisp clean look, still keeping a traditional
feeling. A porch on the side was removed, along with cedar shakes
and wide siding. The shallow pitched roof was removed and a new
roof built. All windows were replaced, but existing openings were
retained. French doors off the living room replaced the existing
bay window and open onto a new deck under a trellis which is suspended
by cables from the wall above. A galvanized standing seam roof
hangs off the south wall and provides some protective cover at
the front entry. |
