Prior
to remodeling the house had two entrances on the front, one of
which went into the living room and the one which was used opened
directly into the kitchen. The master bedroom had a wonderful view
of the St. Croix River, but no bedroom door, needing to duck under
the ceiling upon entering. There was also only one bathroom on
the second floor. The existing porch and deck were removed, the
roof over the master bedroom was raised to give it more pitch and
interior height and an addition was added to the second floor above
a first floor bathroom. A master bath with two sinks, a shower
and a japanese soaking tub was added. A new entry foyer was added
to the first floor, opening to both the living room and kitchen.
A screened porch was added to the rear of the house looking out
toward the river. All windows were replaced with a style more in
keeping with the traditional look of the house. |
