The owners of this mid-level entry home wished to solve the problem of limited space at the front door, typical of this very familiar design. An addition was added which provided a covered front porch and spacious entry area, opening to the livingroom half a level up, a new master bath and dressing area on the upper level and a three-quarter bath, laundry and sauna on the lower level. The house received all new exterior siding and windows including the existing livingroom bay, which was replaced with a new bay which expanded the livingroom floor space. Interior trim and doors were replaced and a new deck was added to the rear with a trellis designed for birdfeeding. A year later a chicken coop was designed and built in the side yard. |
